Demolition Service Areas: Brisbane, Logan, Moreton Bay & Redlands
Demolition Brisbane works across greater Brisbane and three neighbouring council areas: Logan, Moreton Bay and the Redlands. Each region has its own housing stock, flood and coastal mapping, and service providers, so each has its own page with the local detail that matters before a house comes down.

Brisbane City
Brisbane City Council covers the largest share of the work, split into four regions:
- Brisbane northside — Wilston, Windsor, Clayfield, Kedron, Stafford, Chermside, Nundah, Aspley, Sandgate and Bracken Ridge
- Brisbane southside — West End, Annerley, Coorparoo, Holland Park, Mount Gravatt, Yeronga, Sunnybank and Runcorn
- Brisbane western suburbs — Paddington, Red Hill, Bardon, The Gap, Toowong, Indooroopilly, Kenmore, Sherwood and Chelmer
- Brisbane bayside and east — Bulimba, Morningside, Carina, Cannon Hill, Tingalpa, Wynnum, Manly and Lota
Surrounding council areas
- Logan — Springwood, Daisy Hill, Shailer Park, Kingston, Browns Plains, Beenleigh, Jimboomba and Logan Village
- Moreton Bay — Redcliffe, Strathpine, Albany Creek, North Lakes, Caboolture, Narangba and Bribie Island
- Redlands — Cleveland, Capalaba, Wellington Point, Victoria Point, Redland Bay and the bay islands
Each of these regions has a dedicated page covering its housing, flood and coastal mapping, and the council and utility details that apply.
What changes from council to council
The building approval for demolition works the same way across Queensland: a private building certifier assesses and issues it. What changes is the local planning scheme. Brisbane City Plan 2014 has the Traditional building character overlay protecting many pre-1947 homes. Logan, Moreton Bay and Redland each have their own planning schemes, with overlays for flood, coastal hazard and vegetation, and their own processes.
Service providers differ too:
- Power — Energex across all four council areas
- Water and sewer — Urban Utilities in Brisbane, Logan Water in Logan, Unitywater in Moreton Bay, and Redland City Council in the Redlands
- Gas and NBN — through your own providers
The same process everywhere
Wherever the property is, the order of work doesn't change: approvals and overlays checked, services disconnected, asbestos identified and removed by a licensed removalist, the structure demolished in a controlled order, materials separated for recycling, and the site cleared.
Services in every area
House demolition, knockdown rebuild demolition, commercial demolition, internal demolition and strip-outs, pool removal, concrete and slab removal with site clearing, and asbestos-aware demolition are available throughout these regions. Island and acreage jobs take extra planning, but the scope is the same.
Local conditions that change the job
The same service can look quite different from one region to the next. A western suburbs knockdown may be all about slope and access; a bayside one about salt damage and storm tide; a Logan or Moreton Bay job about acreage, tanks and septic systems; and a Redlands island job about barges. Each regional page explains what tends to shape demolition in that area.
Not sure which area you're in?
Your rates notice shows which council your property falls under. If you are near a boundary — such as between Brisbane and Logan around Kuraby, or between Brisbane and Moreton Bay around Bald Hills and Albany Creek — mention the suburb when you request a quote.
Common questions
Do you cover areas outside these regions?
The focus is Brisbane, Logan, Moreton Bay and the Redlands. If your property is close to the edge of these areas, ask when you request a quote.
Does the approval process change between councils?
The building approval through a private certifier is the same across Queensland, but each council's planning scheme has its own overlays. Brisbane's character overlay is the one that most often adds a council approval step.
